HEX-Case - Magnetic Bassoon Reed Case for 6 Reeds

HEX-Case is my new reed case, designed specifically to be unfolded and attached to surfaces during concerts or practice sessions. It is more of a work of art than the ultimate storage solution. HEX-Case features:

• A total of 21 magnets that hold the construction together and allow it to be attached to any metal surface
• A special folding design that keeps both parts together in any position
• A unique aesthetic look and format
• A silicone strap that securely holds reeds in a suspended position
• Special ventilation holes that promote air circulation and prevent mold growth on reeds

As mentioned, this case is more of a design-oriented product. It is still completely stable and reliable to use, but requires more care than my classic cases. Here are my usage recommendations:

• Be careful with your reeds! (always) The top layer folds over the bottom. While the magnets snap together quickly, being careless may cause the lid walls to catch the reeds
• To save space and keep the dimensions compact, I did not add dedicated opening tabs. The case can still be easily opened and closed once you find comfortable positions and pressure points
• While the lid and base are securely attached to each other when closed, a strong throw could send one part flying off. I do not recommend swinging the case around - or at least keep both parts held together if you do
• Attaches great to various surfaces including music stands, however due to the physics and shape of the object, some kind of stop is still needed - such as a screw or any other protrusion on the stand - as the case will slide down the rod otherwise

Overall dimensions: 143 mm diameter, 27 mm height.
